Description

The mathematical models for the temper and thin strip rolling case typically incorporate a detailed description of the elastic work roll deformations. These modesls, referred to as non-circular arc rollgap models, are either based on the elastic half-space solution or on Jortner's solution. In this contribution the approximation of the displacement fields by means of the Ritz method is proposed in order to derive an implicit algebraic rollgap model suitable for the simulation and control purpose.
