Description

This work presents a re-configurable low-power receiver front-end for SRD-band applications. It provides a single RX-chain that can be configured into three different modes of operation, consuming an active power of 0.6mW to 1.44mW. Dependent on the selected mode, wake-up reception, AM demodulation or IQ demodulation are supported. The design realizes a digitally selectable narrow-band 500 kHz 4-path filter in both 868MHz and 915MHz SRD-bands. The test-chip has been fabricated in a 1P6M 180nm CMOS technology with triple-well option and achieves a gain of 21 dB with an NF of less than 6.6 dB at a 1.2V supply. With the provided on-chip matching, the receiver does not require any external RLC components and enables a maximum of integration.
