Abstract

Organic sheets open up great opportunities for lightweight automotive design, but till now their full potential has rarely been utilized. To achieve maximum possible stiffness and strength, and thus produce components at low weight and cost, new approaches to component design and manufacturing are required. These include simulation-supported structure optimization, automated production processes and tailored components.
