Abstract
Physical fluid parameters like, e.g. mass density, sound velocity and viscosity can be determined by utilizing ultrasonic sensors. In this contribution we investigate the utilization of a sensor setup, previously developed and validated for determining the characteristic acoustic impedance of fluids, to determine the longitudinal viscosity of (particularly low-viscous) liquids. Besides the basic sensor setup an according 1D-model and a comparison of simulation results to measurement results obtained with a test device are presented.
