A Case in Management Course: Flipped Classroom with CEL Approach

Publikation: Beitrag in Buch/Bericht/KonferenzbandKapitelBegutachtung

Abstract

The combination of the Flipped Classroom (FC) approach and Community-Engaged Learning (CEL) underscores the importance of collaboration in educating future managers. Students can enhance their problem-solving, critical thinking, and reflective skills by working on real cases from the community in an interactive learning environment. This approach exposes learners to the complexities of real-world scenarios, including ambiguity and uncertainty, fostering a systematic approach to working with theories and practical requirements including feedback from instructors and practitioners. The FC and CEL design not only facilitates the practical application of theoretical concepts but also encourages students to overcome accompanying challenges, leading to a necessary synthesis of theory and practice. In summary, while implementing this approach may pose challenges to students, teachers, and practitioners, its effectiveness in developing the competencies and skills managers need today is the fruitful result of the collaborative efforts of all stakeholders.
