DEMOS - Distance Education and tutoring in heterogeneous telematics environments

Demos is an acronym for Distance Education and tutoring in heterogeneous telematics environments. The scope of the work was to design and develop a distributed education environment for distance education scenarios where cooperation among teachers, learners, tutors and experts are supported in a very flexible way. It was focused on the development of multimedia CSCW applications for education over heterogeneous environments. Four main groups of applications have been developed: *) Collaborative hypermedia editor and common interoperability toolbox *) Distributed virtual classroom *) Computer integrated classroom with intelligent support *) Asynchronous collaborative learning tools
