BISANTE - Broadband Integrated Satellite Network Traffic Evaluation

Bisante - to support network service providers in management of their services and capacity planning of their resources by providing a simulation methodology realised in a workbench developed in Bisante. The characteristics of multimedia traffic are mostly unknown. In order to design and dimension networks carrying this traffic, it is necessary to first study the traffic characteristics. The impact of the network on the services and applications is of great importance as the user-perceived Quality of Service (QoS) may vary due to varying network conditions. Bisante will carry out subjective tests to determine the user-perceived QoS and create a workbench integrating both traffic and network models.
