DEXA was founded 30 years ago by Prof. Dr. Roland Wagner and Prof. Dr. A Min Tjoa to meet a crucial need for an international conference to address the emerging trends of Databases and Expert Systems Applications at that time. Over the years, DEXA has grown from a gathering of innovative academics 30 years ago here in Austria into an impressive international assembly with over 5000 international participants and additional distinguished speakers and guests in the last 30 years. We are now back to Austria the country where the seed of DEXA was planted. DEXA 2019 is thriving thanks to the fruitful cooperation of the Institute of Telecooperation, Johannes Kepler University Linz and the Software Competence Center Hagenberg (SCCH) who are now the new organizers of DEXA.
